My Favorite Month

I'd like to think that Christmas in my family extends to January, Lance's 10th, my 36th and our 11th wedding anniversary. Nothing fancy though just some much needed family time spent in Great Falls, Montana.

Summer Road Trip 2013

Also found some pictures from our summer road trip to Idaho last year. Some pictures were taken by my little photographer Leila.

First stop was in Cranbrook, BC.

Somebody enjoyed taking pictures :D

I needed this trip so bad after mom's sudden passing. It was a wonderful trip despite the timing and the kids had so much fun, that itself made this trip all the more memorable.

'Til our next road trip :D

A Family Weekend

We spent the weekend in Calgary. I was able to convince hubby to stay there for 3 days and 2 nights and not just our usual overnight stay. The kids were pretty much amazed with the fancy hotel and begged to stay for a couple more nights.

Day 1 was spent in Deerfoot Mall and we ate lunch at Buffet Yangtze. It was delicious, there were plenty of choices, the kids loved the food and I would love to come back there again. The mall I didn't like much so after eating we headed to hubby's next agenda. The kids and I stayed in the car while hubby did his window shopping. A last minute trip to Chinook Centre was a must since Lance wanted to check out The Lego Store. Both kids got their toys while Mom and Dad bought nothing for themselves, maybe on Day 2!

Day 2 was reserved for CrossIron Mills. We had lunch at the food court, my favorite Tom Yum while the kids ordered pizza in Sbarro (I am craving for some Sbarro pizza as I type this), I forgot what hubby ordered all I can remember is we were satisfied and full. As usual hubby and I bought nothing but the kids got themselves some light up shoes. We went back to the hotel to rest then drove to Pacific Hut (a Filipino restaurant) and ate so much AGAIN!

Day 3 was the day of our very important appointment. We woke up early and walked to the building, luckily the kids were cooperative the whole time. After our appointment, we proceeded to the hotel and started packing. Our last day in Calgary, happy that we got what we came for, happy with the extra days and just happy for our family weekend.

I can't wait for August. A month long vacation, new places, new adventures, all I can think of is, soon I'll be tasting some yummy cannolis!!! :D

A Beautiful Summer

bonding with cousins tristen and taylor

We just got back from our summer vacation last Wednesday. We had a blast driving, it took us 3 days to get to Brampton and 4 days going back here to Lethbridge. The kids were behaved most of the trip which was a surprise considering the long hours they had to sit in the car. We stopped every 2 hours to put gas, pee, stretch and exchange drivers. It was FUN and EXCITING, an experience we will forever treasure and will most likely be repeated. Summer 2012 please come real quick!!!

Mont Tremblant

Montreal

Ottawa

Last year we flew to Ontario and since I learned how to drive May of this year, we thought of the impossible, to go there via road trip. I`m glad we did, having family around was the best thing to cure my husband`s burn out. The kids got to mingle and get close to their cousins, aunts, uncles, grandmas and grandpas. There were food and noise galore! We got to visit Ottawa, Mont Tremblant and Montreal. The three weeks passed by so quick it was heartbreaking to pack our stuff and go.

The kids had a blast fishing, they caught so much that my mother in law had a hard time catching up cleaning what they caught. They did so much activities in Mont Tremblant and sight seeings in Montreal plus our many hotel stays. They got to watch Smurfs with their cousins and the whole clan played bowling as well. I got to go on several occasions without the kids, a quick trip to the supermarket and retail therapy with Ate Agatha. My mother in law did most of the cooking and would sometimes babysit, and when we didn`t have any agenda on a particular day, it was still relaxing to just stay at Tito Allen`s or Tita Veron`s house.

Fun isn't enough to describe what we had this summer as a matter of fact I don't have the exact word for it. Nothing beats family bonding and good food. I know it's still too soon to organize our next summer's agenda but hopefully it's gonna be here in Alberta.

Our heartfelt thanks, we miss you all ♥

Weekend Fun

Our recent Calgary trip was out of the blue, unplanned and was decided at the last minute. It was fun though especially for the kids. Lance did good at The Shooting Edge. He had an awesome time there with his dad while Lei and I waited for them. After that, we ate at the Calgary Farmers' Market while the kids played in the play area. It was such a rainy day we couldn't possibly go anywhere outdoors so we spent a few hours in the mall before checking in at a hotel nearby.

We used to bring a lot of food when we go on road trips except with this one so for dinner, we went to Pacific Hut and every cent was worth it, the food was delicious! The kids were just as full as mom and dad and we even brought home our leftover Bulalo (Beef Shank in Onion Broth).

The next day's agenda was to bring the kids to Calaway Park and that's were we spent the whole day before going back to Lethbridge again. And the highlight of the trip? I got to drive on the highway for the first time :D
