Stressful Mornings

my li'l monster

My most stressful days of the week are Tuesdays and Thursdays. These are the days when my youngest goes to school as well and it's not easy to wake her up (just like dad), feed and bathe. I feel like exploding when she goes into one of her tantrums and I couldn't make her eat, dress up nor even pee. How I manage to haul them both in school (on time) especially when we're walking is a miracle indeed.

Lance, always early like mom
My daughter, who's turning 4 in a week can be so excited about school at one point and then feel exactly the opposite in a snap. It is so stressful, words are not enough to describe how hectic our Tues/Thurs mornings are. I feel like I'm gonna have a heart attack one of these days. I hope not, I don't want my kids to miss school nor be late. Kidding aside, I guess I'm just freaked out by time itself. I hate being late, I am very conscious about time and my daughter's morning antics can cause a lot of delays. And since she's also stubborn, pushing her more into the right direction brings about the opposite reaction and she will refuse everything I expect her to do. I can only breathe a sigh of relief once I have signed her in in class and before I know it, it's time to pick her up.

Oh LIFE!!! Can you be kinder towards me? :D

Post Vacation Viral Illness and Separation Anxiety

ready for school!

While our summer vacation was a blast, days after we came back I got sick. I don't usually get sick or even if I do get a cold, it's over in a day or two. What I had though lingered for more than a week, what's worse is that I have kids to attend to plus my hubby of course.

empty living room, so much space and clutter free

Before I was fully recovered, my son also got sick he had to miss school for a couple of days due to on and off fever which the doctor diagnosed as something viral. In between recuperating myself, taking care of my son and my youngest child's first day in Pre-K, we also managed to rearrange the whole house. It was a grueling process but the end result is priceless.

afternoon nap in their own room yeyyy!

The kids, for the first time are now sleeping in their bedroom/playroom. This I guess was the best outcome of our home makeover/end of summer cleaning. We finally got rid of all the stuff we needed to get rid a long time ago. Toys were sorted out even the furnitures and everything or should I say mostly are in place. Finally the house was de littered!

finally!

And yes, the icing on the cake is that the kids no longer sleep on mom and dad's bed. We now can sleep comfortably in our queen size bed. We actually thought of buying a king size one to accommodate the four of us fortunately and surprisingly, the kids agreed to sleep in their room. There's still a bit of resistance but hopefully in due time, they'll get used to it. I do miss them though. I just couldn't wait to see them the next day. Mornings are just sweeter except that I now have to wake up early to prepare them for school. Curling up with mom will just have to be reserved during weekend mornings :D

OC-ness

kids wearing winter clothes and some photo op before going to school

When you are a mom and it's winter, your priority is to keep your kids warm especially when they are outside. What's my OC-ness got to do with it? Well, I'm the type of person who wants everything in order, ready and I'm always on time. I hate being late, I'd rather wait because I'm too early. Since Lance's class starts at 12:20pm and the walk to school is about 10-15mins, we usually leave the house at exactly 12noon reaching school anywhere between 12:10-12:15pm. I start to prepare him at exactly 11:20am, and we're all dressed up and ready to go at quarter to 12.

Winter's changed this however. Early in the morning, I already prepare their snow suits, gloves, bonnets, and jackets. When you are OC, you'd hate to grab things at the last minute, especially these winter clothes and other stuff. It would be such a waste of time and I know from a fact that when you don't prepare things ahead of time, you are bound to forget something. This is what I've been telling my husband about, I just hope the kids will take after me when it comes to being prepared, organized and punctual.
